Fingerprints recognition system

Project duration: 2011 - 2013

The aim of development of any biometric system that employs fingerprint recognition is an effective and reliable user verification and/or identification. Therefore, we will focus primarily on the analysis, upgrade and improvement of our existing fingerprint verification system. One of the biggest problems are badly captured fingerprints. Such low quality fingerprints result in poor performance of the system. In the long term there will be an emphasis on the reliability improvement of the system, therefore our work will be oriented towards research in the field of image quality assessment and also towards analysis and implementation of algorithms for singular point detection. Apart from that, we would also like to provide a working prototype for user verification with all neccesary atributes of the user friendly system, also in the cloud.
