On Monday, the 3rd of October, the Faculty of Computer and Information Science held a formal reception for more than 450 freshmen, which was continued at Prešeren Square for all freshmen of the University of Ljubljana.

The formal reception began for students enrolled in higher education programs at 10 o’clock and continued with a university program at 11 o’clock. We prepared a special and exciting reception.
The freshmen were addressed by the dean, Prof. Dr. Nikolai Zimic.

They were welcomed by the president of the Student Council, Jan Vesel.

A former student of the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, who is today one of the most successful businessmen in Slovenia, Andraž Tori, currently of Zemanta, came to share his knowledge and experience with them. Zemanta provides innovative solutions for enriching content on the web. Tori gave advice to students about where in Ljubljana computer enthusiasts can find something useful for themselves. The next guest, last year's freshman Žiga Ham, joined us via Skype from America, where he is currently working as an intern at Google. Both were available for questions and they received quite a few of them.

Upon completion of the reception ceremony freshmen received a guide, First help, containing all relevant information that will help them at the beginning of their study at FRI. From the Student Council they received T-shirts, digital certificates, and student cards.

Equipped freshmen then went full of expectations towards Prešeren Square, where the reception ceremony of the Rector of the University of Ljubljana and the Ljubljana Faculty Deans was held for all the freshmen of the University of Ljubljana.

The reception continued with sports events and entertainment.

We wish all freshmen a successful start to the academic year and new student life!
