The Night of researchers is a Europe-wide project under the Horizons 2020 programme, as part of which numerous events take place in several hundred European cities all on a single night.

The aim of the Night of Researchers is to present the profession and life of a scientist in a fun way and to enable the widest possible audience to experience science through a visit to research institutions or by meeting researchers. In Slovenia the event is organised by the Jožef Stefan Institute in cooperation with other organisations involved in scientific and research work.

Researchers from the Faculty of Computer and Information Science participated at the main venue of the Night of Researchers in Ljubljana on 25 September 2015. On the main stage in Novi Trg Dr Matej Kristan explained to visitors the operation of computer vision in autonomous robot systems, while at the stand researchers from the laboratory for artificial visual cognitive systems presented various applications of computer vision which they themselves developed.
