The FRI offers a doctoral study programme in Computer and Information Science. Moreover it collaborates in providing the Interdisciplinary Doctoral Programme in Bioscience, which is coordinated by the UL Biotechnical Faculty.
EXTENSION OF DURATION OF DOCTORAL PROGRAMMES
Currently enroled doctoral students who will have active status in academic year 2019/2020 and will advance from year to year on an ongoing basis may conclude their course under the conditions for a three-year study programme. In the event that during this time a student is on hiatus or repeats a year, they will transfer to the four-year programme and thereby be allocated an additional year of research work and payment of tuition fees for that year.
Students who have registered the topic of their doctoral dissertation on or after 14 October 2017 (date of student’s application applies) will be subject to the procedures under the new Rules on UL doctoral studies.
Students who have registered the topic of their doctoral dissertation before 14 October 2017 (date of student’s application applies), prior to the entry into force of the new Rules on UL Doctoral Studies, will be subject to procedures under the UL Statutes.
Approval of the topic of the doctoral dissertation in a three-year doctoral programme, irrespective of the date of registration of the topic (applies to all those who starting in the 2019/2020 academic year will advance on an ongoing basis), is valid for four years from the date of confirmation at UL.
