The AdoptQC project studies the initiation stage of technology adoption within innovation ecosystems, using quantum computing as a case of an early-on, high-impact digital technology. It develops a framework that combines technology adoption literature with innovation ecosystem literature and considers both micro-level organisational factors and macro-level ecosystem factors. The project will analyse the readiness of organisations and regions to respond to the quantum-computing challenge, identify configurational paths for the adoption of early-stage technologies, and support future scenario building. The outputs will contribute to the understanding of technology diffusion dynamics and provide policy recommendations for encouraging quantum-computing adoption.
