Prof Blaž Zupan, PhD, head of Bioinformatics Laboratory at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science received the award for current achievements in the field of information society. The award was presented to Prof Zupan at the 19th Multiconference Information Society on 10 October 2016.
Prof Zupan and his colleagues developed a method for fusing heterogenous data in the field of molecular biology. Articles about the method have been published in influential scientific magazines
