• Reception for First-Year students at UL FRI
News

At the beginning of the new academic year, UL FRI organized a welcome event for first-year and international students. The reception for students enrolled in the Bachelor's programmes Computer and Information Science and Computer Science and Mathematics, as well as the Professional Bachelor's programme Computer and Information Science, was attended by around 420 first-year students.

The event was opened by the new Dean of UL FRI, Professor Danijel Skočaj, who welcomed the students and highlighted the importance of studying computer science in today's rapidly evolving technological landscape.

"In-depth knowledge of computer science is more important today than ever before. You will be among those who understand how these technologies work, who can develop and improve them, and use them to create innovative solutions. You will not only be users of these technologies, but also their creators," emphasized the Dean in his address.

The faculty's academic and administrative processes were presented by Professor Polona Oblak, Vice-Dean for Educational Affairs, and Aleš Smonig Grnjak, Head of the Student Affairs Office. Representatives of the UL FRI Student Council and the student organization also addressed the students.

A separate reception was held for international students, where they received key information about studying at the faculty, administrative procedures, and student life in Ljubljana.

We wish all first-year and international students a successful academic year!
