• Start of the 2026/27 Academic Year
News

The new academic year 2026/27 at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, University of Ljubljana (UL FRI), will begin on Thursday, 1 October 2026. The winter semester timetable is available on the UL FRI timetable website, and classes will officially start on that date.

An exception applies to courses scheduled on Thursdays in lecture halls PA and P1. Due to the Reception for First-year students taking place on 1 October, lectures in these rooms will not follow the regular timetable. Students are advised to check the online classroom for information regarding introductory lectures and any alternative arrangements.

Please note that the published timetable is not yet final and may be subject to changes, particularly from the week beginning 5 October 2026. Personalized timetables are not yet available for all students but are expected to be released during the coming week.

Practical classes and laboratory exercises will generally begin on 8 October 2026. Any exceptions will be communicated by course instructors during introductory lectures or via the online classroom.

Reception for First-Year Students

First-year undergraduate students will not have regular classes on 1 October. Instead, they are invited to attend the Reception in lecture hall P1:

  • 11:00 for students enrolled in the university programmes Computer and Information Science and Computer Science and Mathematics,
  • 13:00 for students enrolled in the professional higher education programme Computer and Information Science.

Welcome Event for International Students

The welcome event for international students at UL FRI will take place at 12:00 in lecture hall P03. Participants will receive essential information about studying at the faculty, administrative procedures, and student life at UL FRI.

We wish all students a successful start to the new academic year and much success in their studies.
